you cant beat a shower or bath followed by warm wet towel left on face for a few minutes prior to shaving.
Allways wet shave and use a good razor. I prefer to use oil rather than foam.
After shaving, dry face with warm towel and always moisturise. I dont use aftershave as it just hurts serves no purpose.
Also I like shaving after a few days growth (when possible) as shaving too regularly leaves my face a bit dry.Tips and advice on how to have a good shave?

steam your face to open your pores and soften the hairs..then apply a shaving gel suitable for sensitive skins..massage in well..use razor in direction of hair growth to remove most of the job..then shave against hair growth for an ultra smooth shave..rinse with warm water..finally splash with cold water to close pores to prevent spots..if you have a shaving balm..go for a sensitive skin one if possible and apply gently and away you go..also the more you do it the less chance of cuts as your skin will be used to it..go for a swivel head razor too to go along contours and pull as many silly faces as you need to get in all the awkward angles..if this doesn't work then give up and grow a beard..lol
use a good shaving cream it reduces nicks and cuts and i would say after shaving, leave the hair 2 grow back for a few days as doing it too often just make srazor bumps come up. Waitin a few days makes it lovely and smoo0oth =D
have a hot bath or shower, the heat helps open up the pores so the hairs come out easier.
Use an expensive razor, cheap razers are a false economy.
Use an aftershave balm afterwards to sooth the skin
