Tips/advice from those who've lost +20 lbs?

I'm looking to lose about 40 lbs, because that is how much I am overweight. I'm a 5'6 190 lb female, 19 y/o. I know all about eating right and exercising.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice or tips, coming from their own experience?

I'm not looking to lose it fast, I know that's impossible. I would just like some inspiration and information from those who have been in my shoes.

Thanks!Tips/advice from those who've lost +20 lbs?
Try these good nutrition meals. It helped me lose 70 lbs. in 9 months, along with a workout program to help you burn calories and build lean muscle which helps you burn more fat and lean down and tone up. Good luck and email me if you need additional info. I have my clients on this and they love it and lose an average of 2 lbs. a week along with their workouts that I have designed for them. My workout routine

I do a push pull workout on most days. 3 days a week i do strength training and the other 3 I do 65 minutes cardio moderate speed (3.5- 3.7)for walking on an incline of 1-2. For running, I run at a speed of 5.5-6 mph on an incline of 0-1, with 1 minute of warm-up before I run at 3.5 mph and for at least 5-10 minutes to cool down afterward. I stretch as well for approximately 5 minutes. I take Sundays off to rest and relax. Push pull for example is doing triceps extension with or without a break then doing biceps curls and adding reverse or regular crunches in there to make sure I get abs in and it cuts down on time. I do abs a lot to keep my core strong. I try to get all of the muscles in that area to work together on the same day. Do the amount of weight for what you want to accomplish. Say for toning, lighTips/advice from those who've lost +20 lbs?
Been there, done that and was successful. You seem to know everything you need to do to get the job done. All I really did was eat in moderation and I did cut back quite a bit with fast food especially and sweets like pastries. Drink a lot of water because it keeps you full. Eat healthy meals to keep you full and energized and don't step on the scale all the time because when you do and you don't see results right away you might get a little discouraged. I don't know if you have ever heard of the plateau which is when you start to lose weight and then for like 2 weeks or so your body doesn't really lose any more weight and that is just because your body has gotten used to the routine that you are on so in order to keep losing the weight you must switch up your excersises and or have a more intense workout. You could do that by walking more than usual or running more or adding different excersises. You will do fine!
the 2 major things that helped me was looking into the Glycemic Index (which I was looking up for other health reasons), and picking a specific exercise routine that targeted which section of the body I wanted to lose the weight in (I wanted to keep the big boobs but I wanted to lose the after-preggo belly underneath).
Dear, I've lost 60 lb, with hard work and starving BUT, I stumbled on this book just about two weeks ago. I still need to loose 16pounds to get fit, and this book is actually helping me. Better way by far than the one I've been using since 2003! The book is called 'I CAN MAKE YOU THIN'; by Dr. Paul McKenna. If anything else, it is helping me to really have a good relationship with food and see it from a different perspective. You can do it girl! Good luck to you.
Hey, Im 21 Yrs 5'5 and weight 185 I am 50lbs over weight as well. I have lost some manage weight when I finally out of school. I realize that my body was my problem and I just didn't take care of. So I decided to change myself not for no one but for myself. I use to be 210 when I started my quest. I decided to start small that way my body would get the hang of what its not use too. So every other day I either went for a walk or roller bladed, things that I knew that would be fun to me..That's the key, Find that one thing that you enjoy and each time you do it, challenge yourself Little more each time. Look I am where your at right now, its really hard to want something that you want so bad, but I know where your coming from. Long story short I went down to 164lb and love every minute of it. But happiest lol happen and I gain 20 back. But I am willing to try my hardest to get back on the weight-loss again. Look I hope Im not going to sound weird, but I think that if we talk to each other on Messenger, I think we will be able to give each other the support that we need. That's one thing I need the most and I not really getting here. You are just like me and I feel that if we help each other just by sating goals. We can do it. Do you watch biggest loser? cause we can do something like that. that's if you want too. Write back add me lil_Robinson85@yahoo.com. Thank.

Hints, tips and money saving advice for travelling around France Please?

Campsites? They are everywhere. Some of them are really basic: just a shower. That's usually the case in small villages. But even regular campsites with basic facilities are pretty cheap.

If you plan on taking the train very often, maybe buy a travelcard if you're young (although I'm not sure foreigners can buy them, but I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to) which will give you 50% (I think). I don't remember the details, though. I think you need to be under 26 or 25 to apply. But maybe not!

I tried to open their websiye, but it doesn't want to tonight. So, it's sncf.com if you want to have a look. It can be a bit difficult to understand everything, though, but you can always wait until you get there, anyway.

For food, you can have good sandwiches in bakeries. But you can also buy some bread and some p芒t茅 and make your own sandwiches. At least, you'll get to try local food specialties. Try to ask the butcher what the specialty of the area is: at least, you won't get bored! If you're more than 2, it can be quite cheap and you won't need to store it (you DO need to put p芒t茅 in the fridge, so if you can't, try to eat it quite fast). You can also buy ham and cheese, etc. As I said, if you're a little group, just share and it will be cheaper, and still good. Try different types of bread as well for a change. Same with ';saucisson sec';, which is very good, and any type of ';charcuterie';. remember that there are local variations on cheese and charcuterie, so you might just as well try food from the area.

I don't know what your budget is at all, so... But if you have a bit more money, you can go to ';maison d'h么tes';, where they'll serve you food from the area.

Places where a lot of tourists go are often overpriced and not that good. Of course, if you go in August, there will be tourists everywhere, so that info might not be very helpful.

Tips/Advice/Potential?

What would you have done? Helpful exercises for very hot, SENSITIVE gelding that has a strong hate for other trainers? He is 14 years old, been an event horse most of his life, brain is relatively fried and we are rebooting it. SUPER scopey over fences, brave as hell. Wonderful movement when not tense.

I am hoping this will be my Rolex horse in a few years. What do you think?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=dUP042YnIKsTips/Advice/Potential?
Get out of the arena. Get on the trails and the only jumps he does in in nature....clean up his mind, forget about his form, let him be a horse and just keep him in shape on the trails. (the rougher the better)....he won't forget what he knows, don't worry about that, he just doesn't need any more discipline right now...good luck.Tips/Advice/Potential?
What is he getting fed? I would be sure to have him on a low

Protein low sugar diet. I was wondering what happens if you just let him lope out some of that energy. Does it just make it worse? Or does it take some of the steam off? Like a couple of the other answers said, take him out of the arena for a while. Not just a day or two, but a week or two and see if that helps. Lots of trail rides would really help keep his mind fresh. You might could try taking him over some obstacles. Not big jumps, just fallen trees, creeks, brush, around trees/rocks and such. If you can ride him this way, that would be good to just give him some rein. Don't make him stay collected all the time. It might help him relax.

You have a great seat, and don't apologize to anyone because you have scoliosis. It's part of who you are.

Good luck with you awesome horse!
Lovely looking horse, has gr8 natural movement, he is very tense though %26amp; doesn't look to be particulary enjoying himself all that much, he definately needs some extra flexibility work, lunging combined with some loose rein work, pretty much just letting him choose his course %26amp; speed (as long as it's not a full flat, out of control gallop) so he learns to enjoy himself.

If i was you %26amp; you have the time, I would do a lot of ground work, building a strong trusting relationship with him, just simple confidence building things like, having him stand still %26amp; complient while you climb all over him etc.

I have trained %26amp; re educated many horses for people who ride in all different disciplines %26amp; this is one thing i recommend they do once having there horse nome with them, many say ';oh isn't that just natural horsemanship hype' my response is 'no, it's just building a foundation with your horse.

Many amazing horses will not allow more than 1 trainer to work with them, my stallion who has now passed was like that, very hot headed %26amp; many considered him to be dangerous, i got him when he was 7 %26amp; relatively unhandled, i succesfully showed him in 3 different disciplines over the years %26amp; did very well. Put another rider on his back, or present him with another trainer %26amp; he went back to his old ways. Some horses are simply one person horses, especially if they have been mistreated.

Best of luck
I've seen a lot of show horses just get ring sour over the years, and the best thing for them is some time off, and relaxation, and not so much cranking to get the job done all the time.

I would start desensitizing him to things a little bit if he's really touchy. Get him deader on his sides, maybe longe him with a western saddle with the stirrups bumping him until he doesn't care any more. If you don't want to do that, you can always work small circles, bending his head around, and bumping him with your leg until he gets deader on his sides. The whole goal is for him to NOT jump out from underneath you when you squeeze a little bit.

Take him out to places with a lot of activity, and just longe and longe and longe him until the situation doesn't stress him out anymore.

Take him on long trail rides, where he can just walk and be a horse and socialize with other horses.

The idea is to get him used to everything, and realize that its okay for him to be nervous, he can take the time to run and buck on the longe line, and he won't get in trouble. He needs to learn that he's not going to get crucified with somebody's legs, and he needs to learn how to have fun while being ridden again.

When you get back to working him undersaddle in the ';show'; type atmosphere, make sure you longe him before riding, then just walk him around for 30 mins before getting to work. Just walking my gelding around at shows mellows him out, lets him see everything, and just sets the ';pace'; for the day.

If your guy gets nervous in commotion you can also tie him near a riding ring, and just make him stand there for an hour and settle down. We tie our yearlings by our arena while we ride so they get used to people zooming by, and then when we start them, all the horses milling about doesn't bother them.

If you like the horse, and he's good at fences, and thats your goal with him, put a few months into figuring out his brain, and I'm sure you'll have a ton of fun together. Good luck!

Tips/advice for year 11?

I am going to start school tomorow..

and I really want to do well in my GCSE's

By not being big-headed..

My grades are usually above average. I am in top set for most classes. I normally get A*/A grades.

But.. I am extremely lazy.

I only work when I am properly motivated.

Otherwise, I do not work. I always find something else to do. Whether its listen to music, use the net, watch tv, or something that impossible to not do - daydream.

Year 10 was not a great year, I relied on year 11 to work harder.

Any tips/advice?

All answers appreciated

xTips/advice for year 11?
Hello.

I am also starting year 11 in a few days - Summer holidays are over :(

This is the most important school year I think because it is filled with sixth form applications, college applications, and starting on your resume (CV) I think.

The best thing to do, is (well you seem to be doing very well on your grades you clever thing) the best thing, is not to let everything stress you out, and get on top of you - coursework/assignments etc. and that will help you a great deal because you have less things to worry about.

Keep the faith in yourself and believe that you can do it - if your self esteem lowers, you feel that you cannot do it, or will fail, and you are likely to perform less in your subjects and home life.

Try to balance social life with school life - do not do too much work so you are not with friends, and do not do too much socialising as so you forget your school work.

Good luck!Tips/advice for year 11?
I start Year 11 on Friday Year 10 was a horrible Year and it made me really hate school. Now I just don't have any will power. If I don't do good in my gcse's then I won't get into college or get a good job. Your grades sound good anyway If I was you I wouldn't be worrying since it's your last year and everyone wants to do good get like a little study group together do things with your friends I find it easier that way.. Good look for school tomorrow x
wow, your just like me, same situation. uhm, in our year 11, we start mock interviews, get exam results, do exams, apply for colleges/sixth forms. if you get distracted by the net, revise online the night before an exam, usually helps me. sites like www.samlearning.com. oh and i used to draw huge spider diagrams on paper, stick it to my ceiling and revise every night :) it's effective, and kinda looks funny :) email if anything else :D x
im starting year 11 soon too, im like u aswell im in the A/A* grades but work with proper motivation. hmmm advice....erm.........just keep up the grades you're at now and you'll do fine in year 11.

  • Tips/advice for a cruise/destination wedding to Cozumel?

I am planning a 4 night cruise wedding to Key West and Cozumel, getting married on shore of Cozumel in March2010 through carnival. I am in the early planning process and could use any tips or advice for somebody who has had or attended a cruise wedding. We are paying 75% for bridal party and immediate family totaling 18 people in order to ensure that our loved ones can attend. I am very aware that many people will not be able to go for financial reasons but the whole point is for this to be more personal/intimate. Oh, and this is NOT our honeymoon. Wondering if booking the ceremony and reception is a better deal through the cruiseline or a private planner on the island. Also talking to carnival their group specials are pretty poor, anybody know a good place to find a better deal for large groups? Any specials tips or advice to help make this process smooth would be great!Tips/advice for a cruise/destination wedding to Cozumel?
I just wanted to pass along some info about a recent destination wedding for a family that was on a recent cruise with us...

The young couple plus about 15 family and friends were on a Carnival cruise in Dec and were scheduled to be married in Cozumel on the port day.

The ship was delayed in departing and the cruise line changed the port of call to Progresso.

The young couple were devastated and of course, lost all of the monies they paid to the wedding location.

Push your cruise planner to detail a contigency plan if your port of call gets changed...you won't get your money back from the wedding location but at least get the cruise line to comp an on-board ceremony.

Ask the cruise planner for other comps for your large group...picture credits, VIP embarkation/de-barkation, soda cards, spa treatments, cabin upgrades instead of reduction in fares.

Also, be sure to plan for the costs and time for your guests to obtain passport or passport cards. They will be required for 2010 sailings.

    Good luck.

Tips? advice what you think please answer!?

Ok, so i posted how i was concered tht i was going to have twins cuz my dr said it seemed like i was a lot further along than 7 weeks.... Well today I went for an ultra sound, they were having a hard time finding the sac or the baby.. Then they gave me the other ultra sound where they stick tht thing up in u. Sorry I do not know what it is called... Ok well more with my story, when they had done it that one they did see the sac, but they could NOT measure the baby. Only because i'm not as far along as we thought. I'm only 5 weeks... So question... Why would the dr. think im further along than 7 weeks...? Why would I be measuring bigger by my utures ((i think tht is wht u want to call it?)) I do have a tilted pelvic.. Could that be why? Could I be having a big baby? Or could I be having twins? I have already gain 6 lbs. and my clothes do seem to be getting tighter on me... Any please give me your opinion and what you think please? Im just curious? My next drs app. isnt untill June 1st either....Tips? advice what you think please answer!?
Everyone is different. Some people gain weight faster than others. Also you may just have a lot of amiotic fluid, the fluid around the baby. Just don't stress out over something as small as this. Good Luck!Tips? advice what you think please answer!?
Hi there, honey even though you are not due for another month, please know that if you have all of these questions you should call and have them answered for you. Do not let yourself worry, as it is not good or healthy for you or the baby. That is what the doctor and nurses are there for, to help you understand what is happening with your body and your baby. Do not be afraid or feel shy or stupid for speaking up. This is how we learn. This is our rights. I am sure if anything was wrong the doctor would be aware of it, but like I said, please speak up. We have to sometimes to put our fears to rest.

I wish you all the luck and when you have your baby you will know what a true blessing is. (You better get lots of sleep right now, because shortly you probably won't be.) Ha. Aunt DeeDee.

Leaving for AF BMT Tuesday, any advice/tips?

See above ^^Leaving for AF BMT Tuesday, any advice/tips?
Follow directions precisely as given or watch others who go before you. Realize you are entering an incredible organization and there are rules for everything you do-how to eat, walk, turn corners, everything.

Tell family and friends that the first phone call will be just to give an address-make sure they have paper/pen ready. It will probably be a day or two (or more depending of the Training Instructor) before you call. Your TI will be watching everything you do. Don't try to sneak anything into the dorm-they always get caught and the entire flight might suffer.

Drink lots and lots of water. Have envelopes and stamps for letters home-although you may not have much time to write. Let family know that they should keep writing even if they don't hear from you. You may not have much time to write or call home. Usually it was after dinner time (around 6:30 ct) when we heard from our son. Calls will be limited in length and number. Bring your cell phone. They will take it but you will get it back when you head off to tech school.

Go to the church services offered on Sunday. They are a great release for everyone. Just pick a service.

Never be late, and take it seriously. Take care of your wingman-best of luck and thank you for serving our country!Leaving for AF BMT Tuesday, any advice/tips?
Prepare yourself for the mental game that is about to begin. They are going to break you down from the civilian minded person that you are now and make you the military person that you will need to become. Don't fight it even though somethings might seem silly. They want you to be able to follow orders and get everyone to work together as a team. Pay attention, follow orders, and stay out of trouble. You will be fine.
That other guys i right! don't horse around or play any kinds of games. and hope you got a good troop make every one work as a team!!!

(they can hold you back and make you repeat some weeks- made family of mine redo half of it bc they where playing around)

Tips, advice, shortcuts and techniques for uploading and converting DV to PC?

I'm filming classes with a Sony DV Camcorder.

    1. Are there any tips, shortcuts (quick way) to transfer from the camera to pc?

    2. Any way to speed up the conversion from the camera's bit rate to a smaller bit rate?

    3. We have 3 main uses:

    a) small clips distributed by email,

    b) somewhat longer clips for posting on our website, and

    c) full classes (20-60min) for distribution on CD (DVD if

necessary) to be viewed on pc.

What are the minimum bit rates (correct term?) that will still provide acceptable audio and visual quality for those 3 uses?

    4. Is Windows Movie Maker good for editing and doing the above tasks?

    Is there something faster/better?

    I found something called ';VirtualDub 1.7.6';

    http://www.virtualdub.org/].

The camera came with ';Picture Package'; and ';Image Mixer VCD2';. Are they good? bloatware?

Thanks for any help!Tips, advice, shortcuts and techniques for uploading and converting DV to PC?
    1) For getting DV to a PC, Firewire is the fastest way to do it; in most cases, the only way. No shortcuts exist. This is one thing that has led to wider use of hard-drive and DVD camcorders, though the drawback is lower-quality video in different formats. So, the drawback for DV is that you can capture it only in real time. No big deal, you just have to allow the time for it.

    2) For the conversion, I tend to work in the original DV until I'm finished editing my project. Only then do I worry about converting. This way, you get the best possible quality all the way through until you absolutely MUST squash it down. As for the speed of conversion, this all depends on the speed of your computer. The best way to find out is to just do it.

    3) Really, the best way to do this is to try a variety of things until you get the file down to the size you want, while maintaining tolerable quality. Things you'll want to look at include frame size (nobody needs a 720x480 clip in e-mail, for example), bitrate, audio format (do you really need the original .wav stereo audio?), and format (MPEG formats really crunch things down from DV). Mess around with things a bit. Crunch the video first, before the audio. Video takes up much more space.

You can even use sites like YouTube and Google Video for interacting online with users. They use a format called Flash Video, which works on computers that have Flash Player (virtually everyone has it, and even if they don't, it's a very easy download/install). The drawback to this is that clips won't be downloadable via e-mail. Still, there are downloadable formats that should work for you for the e-mailed clips. See above suggestions. Of course, for e-mail, keep things short.

For the website, you can likely use YouTube or Google Video. Upload your stuff to there, embed the clip on your website using their instructions, they make it fairly easy. They even give you a bit of a how-to tutorial (YouTube does, and I think Google also does) about what specifications they like in their video.

For full classes, I say just go with DVD. The discs are a little more expensive, maybe a dollar apiece, but I've had trouble distributing things on CD before. Too much guesswork, some formatting/synch issues, a few glitches. DVD is much more widespread, and it'll be easier to find help if you're having problems with DVD.

I'm actually not too familiar with the software listed above; haven't used any of it (though I have Movie Maker). I know that the version of Movie Maker that I have has an option to compress the video to a specified file size, which is, in theory, good if you're distributing via e-mail. Still, it does the compression automatically, with few specifications from the user, so I'm not sure how well this feature works. For DVD and web stuff, if your software allows you to select file format, bitrate, frame size, frame rate, settings like that, then those programs should work for you. They allow for only basic editing, which is just fine for your purposes. You don't need a whole lot of bells and whistles for this kind of work.

If your current options don't work for you, one entry-level paid option I can recommend is Ulead VideoStudio. It generally works pretty well, and it'll do all of the conversion tasks you want, with the options to dig into the settings and make the changes you want to make. I used it back in version 7, and it fit my uses at the time. Now, they're in version 11.

Hope this has helped somewhat!Tips, advice, shortcuts and techniques for uploading and converting DV to PC?
Glad to help out! There's too much bad video information out there, and I just do my best to counteract it. Happy editing!

no it has to upload full size avi and real time

from there you export in smaller sizes

DVDs have to be done from avi. Nero works the best, just have it import the native avi and it does the rest.

VCDS work best off only some types of MP2 files, you have to experiment.

Nero or movie maker can ususall burn these.

So yeah just looking for tips/advice/motivation on how to kick start the weight lossTips, Advice, Help, Motivation?

Write down everything you eat in a food diary, so then you realise how much you're eating?Tips, Advice, Help, Motivation?
This is what i did to help me:

Post pictures in your room of supermodels (skinny ppl) and everytime you look at them it helps. good luck!
Look at yourself in the mirror when you loose motivation to work out or diet. Works like a charm for me.
if you get hungry drink water, eat LOTS of protein, eat lean meats, if you can eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 normal mals, when exerciseing (don't think of it as exercise, think of it as physical activity) do what you can don't kill yourself and slowly build up, if you want to see chang look at old pictures and compare them with new ones, When u weigh yourself don't be mad if it is very little change or no change, you might have lost more inches, so if u can measure urself every week or so and u will see a bigger result, if u r stuck in a rut FOCUS on the number u want and only think about that number, I have lost around 65 pounds and these are all tips I used

Before u think u r overwight find out what ur BMI is (just search for it on the internet, by the way that stands for Body Mass Index)

    Hope this helps!

  • TIPS/ADVICE for motorcycling?

i took the MSF course recently.

i had alot of trouble putting my feet onto the pegs (probably because i was afraid?) well basically i was sent home because i needed time to take a break and think about why i couldn't complete it 'safely'

i still cant exactly figure out why i couldnt ride on the bike well

    was the bike too heavy/big?

(i had trouble rolling it here and there)

do i need to practice on my balance?

(i was wobbling when the bike moved)

i taught myself to ride a bicycle about 3 years ago. im ok at it but i havent ridden one in the longest.

any helpful tips/advice/comments are greatly appreciatedTIPS/ADVICE for motorcycling?
You need to practice if you can, the first few times that I rode I had the similar problems, and that was with a small bike for me. Even a scooter will get you more comfortable riding. As for the turning or rolling, just remember push forward on the right to turn left and push left to turn right. I know it sounds screwy but that's how it works. I hope this helps, good luck.

Yep I have just got my GCSE results and I am well chuffed. It was only because I worked twice as hard as I messed around in year 10 talking. So my advice to you is DO YOUR WORK! It may seem like a lecture but in the end if you know you have done your best you will be proud and wont have any regrets. Don't let the last 5 years go down the drain!Tips/advice for Year 11?
    If you feel that you are lazy, think to yourself ';Well if I do not do it, then it wil get on top of all the other things I have to do, and in the long term, this will build up and make everything else harder to cope with';

Try and motivate YOURSELF! In the real world when you live on your own, then you will have not many other people to rely on with your job and daily life - if you do not do it, then it will not get done.

Yes, I always find something else to do - but maybe you could compromise - listen to music and do your homework, or have something on in the background.

Maybe in Extreme cases, you get the people that you live with, to take the music away or the internet away until you have done everything. Not once have I done that I must admit, however it may work for you.

Self esteem is a must also - if you do not think that you can do it, then you are likely to do less well in that subject, or less well in that piece of homework/coursework. You must have the motivation and self esteem (not too much self esteem that makes you big headed otherwise you may feel that you are better and you may fail that way) but just enough to say that I can do it if I try my very hardest.

Ummm, get a rocket up your ***!?

    What is the question anyway?
I have the same problem has you I always Tell myself i will do it tommorrow and it never gets done. I cant find the movitation to do it .Seriously .... Right now im meant to be revising but .... : (

Sry that i cant give you any advice !!!!
Well, you need to find motivation. Doing well should be enough.

You also need to get rid of the distractions. Turn off your TV %26amp; computer, don't listen to music. My best advice for the not daydreaming would be to work in half hour stints, do some hard work for half an hour, then watch Friends for example, thats what I do. Or try and make your work fun, Art especially can be a good subject to do for fun work.

Just don't let yourself get distracted, you are working for your future - there's the motivation.

ps, i am going into year 11 too, and I do all of the above, with the exception of putting my music on as a background because I honestly do work better.

    Really hope I helped

Tips/advice on becoming as pretty as possible?

I'm 14, going into high school, and i need some tips and advice on becoming prettier? Everytime i ask this question and post pictures, people never give me any tips or advice and they just say i look okay the way i am, which i KNOW there are somethings i could do to be as pretty as possible.

But i don't know what? I have reddish brown hair, super white/pale skin, blue eyes, i usually wear light or shimmery eyeshadows, mascara and a thin line of eyeliner along the top %26amp; bottom of my eye.

TIPS/ADVICE, please? thanks :)Tips/advice on becoming as pretty as possible?
    confidence.

its not about how much makeup you wear, or what your outfit looks.

be happy and confident, dont care what others think of you, as long as your happy with who you are and you'll lok beautiful!Tips/advice on becoming as pretty as possible?
    have an ';in style'; haircut.

dress in style.. (plaid shirts and skinny jeans are the ';in'; style right now)

with your really white skin.. i wouldnt wear to much make up. maybe a light eyeshadow.. (silver..bronze) and a little eyeliner.

    Hope i helped!

btw... layers in you hair are real popular lately.
well im a guy so i have no idea what to do with makeup .. but i do know what i like on girls... im going to be completly honest... skinny, dark, long hair, not too tall or short, athletic, and responsible... i have problems with doing my work in school and im lazy so i try to have girlsriends that will keep me in check on my work... and dont be EASY.... guys love a challenge and will like you just because they cant have you.....also try o be as happy as possible always walk around smiling and laughing... not angry and crying......and honestly this is mean but kinda true... if you hang around with less attractive ppl u look a little better... but dont take it too far and hang out with monkeys
Hmm well this might sound lame but it really works! Just walk around with good posture and confidence and smile at people a lot- people will notice you and you'll leave a good impression. As for makeup I would say make your cheeks really rosey and dont go too far with the eye make up. :) Hope this helps!
dont wear eyeliner on the bottom of your eye. it makes your eyes look so much bigger. also, i find that brownish eyeshadows make my blue eyes bluer. and oh yeah, stand up straight and smile a lot
Easy. Be different. Not the bad kind of different. By different I mean, still dress nice... but have a different haircut from every other girl. Not an average one. Layer your hair, (Scene haircut.) Trust me
get in with the 'cool' group, look at what clothes they where, be ur self tho, and get a bf (always works for ur confidence)
be as clean as possible, no messy hair. and stay skinny

I don't know If this has anything to do with the problem but I have severe Anxiety And OCD. I often suffer from Panic Attacks with symptoms that include Nausea, Vomiting, Shaking, Dizziness, Light-headidness, And an intoxicating sense of fear.

The problem is, That when the slightest thing happens, For example, If my boyfriend doesn't tell me he loves me fairly regularly, I'll worry and believe that he doesn't Love Me at all. I CONSTANTLY need reassurance that the people close to me aren't going to abandon me, And I don't even like talking to them about it because to me, I just sound like a hindrance.

What can I do to make this a bit better for myself?

Thanks xTips? Advice? Easy 10 Points?
Have you ever tried battling these thoughts with positive constructive debate back to yourself. Example'; he didn't tell me he loved me this morn before he went to work. Come back at yourself and say Don;t be stupid he said i love you right before we went to sleep nothing happened between then and the time he walked out the door for work.

counter those negative thoughts with a positive thought in any way you can even if you call yourself stupid sooner of later you won't be so worried be cause you talked yourself out of that tree. And you will start trusting your own reassurances and not need constant reassurance from other people.

I hope you get well soon and these thoughts of mine commited to ;yahoo answers;help in a positive fashion.

There are things you can do to manage stress and anxiety and I am sure if you follow the advice below, you can make things a little easier for yourself. Managing stress is a lot to do with making some changes in your lifetsyle and making sure that you can relax, sleep better and so on. I went through all this and I was saved by just reserving some time for myself and leaving the office early on some days. The pressure at work was enormous and I lived in constant fear of everything collapsing around me ! Then I was hospitalized twice - it was all ANXIETY and STRESS.

I hope you get better soon and can begin to lead a less fearfiul and worrying life.

    Rob

PS. Why don't you give your boyfriend a little break from the constatnt worrying and just enjoy yourselves more ? After all, he must be feeling the pressure too, so try to make it easier for him.

I definitely agree with the last answer and also wanted to add that my husband also has OCD and pretty severe anxiety/panic disorder and he has done very well with counseling and medication therapy. Talk to your regular physician about what's going on and he/she will be able to help you figure out your next step. I promise you, there is help available and there are LOTS of people out there that are going through the same things as you! Everyone deserves to be happy. I wish you the best of luck! :0)
LOL! ALL women need to be told 'I love you' every so often. They just need to hear the words. You're not unusual in that.

Counselling might help, at least it's worth a try. Also there are drugs now that really can help with OCD and panic/anxiety disorders. They work very well for some people, not so well for others. You might start with your doctor, explaining the problem and seeing if he has any ideas.

Women need to be told they're loved, guys can tell by the way you act. You obviously have problems more than just 'attitude', but you should try to learn to relax and have some confidence in yourself. Your BF loves you because you are lovable. He's not going to just suddenly wake up some morning and decide he's fallen out of love with you. If you are in doubt, give him a hug and you'll feel better right away. Learning to feel better about yourself will help a lot, though it won't solve the anxiety and OCD problems completely.

Tips & Advice on flying with a 7 month old baby?

Am heading to California in march, my daughter will be 7 months around the time we take off we are going to California together, here the problem tho, i have never flown with a baby before and i need some tips and help on what i can bring and what to pack like how much diapers and formula and all that crap, now when i go i have to pack our clothes and the stroller and car seat but the stroller doesn't connect with the car seat will i be able to put the car seat under the plane ill only be there for only for 5 days tho, but i really need some help with this because i have no idea what i can do when i go hopefully i can get some good advice and tips on everything thank you very much

can you carry can formula on the plane with you in the diaper bag or will they take it from youTips %26amp; Advice on flying with a 7 month old baby?
I feel like I'm a flying expert. My son is 2yrs, 3 months and my daughter is 6 months. We have flown with our kids since they were each 2 months old.

I'm not sure about formula. I know you can take breastmilk through. I think if it's for a bottle, you can brink it though, just tell them. You can always make the bottle after you get through security.

Diapers- you can probably estimate how many you need. If you run out, I'm sure you can pick some up in CA, they will have plenty of stores!

You should be able to either check or gate check the car seat and stroller, and I'm pretty sure that they don't count for your checked items, meaning you shouldn't have to pay to check them. If you want to use them in the airport, you can just gate check them and wait for them after you land. I've never had a problem with this (other than getting a soaked car seat because of rain once).

Your baby should be pretty good on the plane. I've heard that the pressure shouldn't affect their ears until after 1yr old. My son has never shown any signs of hurting. But just in case, try to feed your daughter on take off and landing. Either a bottle, or something else to eat or drink. When your ears pop, you should probably give her something.

I have tried to keep my kids up as long as I can before the flight, and hold their naps until I'm in the air. That way I'm not stressed about them crying with so many people to hear. Most people are considerate, but not everyone.

Good luck!!!!Tips %26amp; Advice on flying with a 7 month old baby?
So I travelled with my son at 7 months too, I brought on wipes, diapers (you dont need a whole lot just enough to get you there, then pack the rest in your luggage) some of his favourite toys his blanket and baby tylenol just in case. You can side check your stroller which makes life much easier, so you don't have to carry her through the airport you can push the stroller right until you get on the plane, then at your destination right when you get off the plane its right there. Then just check your carseat. And because you have a baby you can bring formula just inform them what it is.
your car seat and stroller will be packed under the plane but not until you get to the gate (well, the car seat can go with your luggage). Put your car seat in a clear garbage bag to prevent it from getting dirtied up with your name on it and when you take your stroller all the way to the gate/terminal they will keep it till everyone boards then the thing will go down below.

Pack your baby a pacifier or give her a bottle on take off and landing, that's usually when the babies cry, they don't know how to pop their ears. Try to get premade formula from somewhere that sells it in exact ounces because you can't carry fluids on, you can bring powder on but the water to mix it with has to be sealed so you'll have to give your baby bottled water (which I heard is bad) so I just took the premade ones). Also, pack a few pairs of clothes too in case she has an accident and you can't get to your stuff that's checked for a while. I'd pack an outfit of your own in her diaper bag too in case she has an accident on you, that way you don't have to sit there in dirty clothes. Pack extra blankets and possibly a hat since they keep the airplanes cold and I think the strewardesses let you get up and walk your baby back and forth when the fasten light goes off.

That's about all I can think about.

    Good Luck :)

(times might have changed since I flew...I guess now you can carry 3oz of liquid but when I flew it was ZERO, couldn't even take lipgloss on the plane)
    How long is the ride?

Bring enough diapers to hold u over for a few hrs in the diaper bag (yes u can bring formula and the diaper bag with u on the plane).

U can put the car seat under the plane...if u have a cover for it, I would use it because it gets banged around and can get dirty.

U can take the stroller all the way to the gate with u and they will have it for u once u get off the plane.

Bring snacks and toys. The take off may bother ears..so a diaper, cup, or paci to suck on may help JUST IN CASE (wasn't an issue for mine though).

Tips & Advice - What should I do?

So it's the 2nd day of high school as a freshmen for me. I still haven't made any friends yet. What should I do? I want a friend [maybe someone in at least one class with me or will at least hang out with me at lunch] but I don't know what to do! Everyone seem to have their own friends and their own group.

No I'm not just complaining and doing nothing. I've tried talking to someone but couldn't keep up the conversation. It started with a question from me and then ended with her answer to my question. I didn't know what else to say to start a conversation.

Also, most people doesn't look like they want to be friends with me either. I'm not attractive at all so it's hard to talk to the guys and some of the girls. However, I'm going to try to become friends with the girls instead [because there are some who are nice/quiet/shy].

What should I do to make them like me and become my friend? How can I start a conversation and keep it going? I don't want to bore the other person and I don't want to attack them with questions.

Should I just build up courage to ask someone if I can hang out with them at lunch once I'm able to get a conversation going or talked to the person a bit? Or would I get rejected? Should I just wait until I talk to the person a few more times then?

I'm in need of serious help. I'm not even kidding. Today I skipped lunch (I wasn't hungry) and felt like a loner since I'm the only one without someone to hang out with. I felt so out of place/left out that I hid in the bathroom until lunch time was over.

I'm really scared I won't be able to make any friends.Tips %26amp; Advice - What should I do?
if you go to a school with a lot of people try to find people that sort of act or dress like you. People with a similar attitude. If you go to a big enough school thats the way to go. Otherwise just find a person with some common interests and make a best friend. It should get easier from there. I also agree use sports or clubs to find friends.Tips %26amp; Advice - What should I do?
If your not in any sports, maybe you should try sports or clubs... more people will notice you and itll give you something to talk about.
Go over to someone at lunch and just ask if you can sit there, if they so no, then go over to someone else, until you find someone. Also, maybe you want to try talking to someone you sit next to in a class, its hard to make good friends like that but you get your name out their and a chance to show your personality.

    Also helpful hints. ..

    1. I would definetaly suggest talking to girls first and easing your way into guys.

    2. Get some more self-confidence, i'm sure your really pretty in your own way!
Everything will unfold as it should. I know that makes me sound like a total fortune cookie, but it's true! I just started a new school too, and I was feeling the exact same way for the first day. Chances are that a teacher will do an activity where you get put into a group. That's what happened to me today - I made two new friends!

I recommend making sure that the person that you try to sit with is very nice and not snobby. Nice people just want everybody to feel good. =)

What you're feeling is totally normal. All new kids feel that way until they find the kids they're meant to be friends with. You probably won't like to hear this, but give it a little time, and I promise that you'll find somebody. There's no way to ';make'; people like you - it happens or it doesn't. Hang in there!

Tips/advice on taking candid photos of women at the beach?

Hi, I am going to Hawaii in a few months, and I plan on taking a LOT of candid photographs of attractive bikini-clad young women at the various popular beaches over there.

I have never done anything like this before.

Have any of you taken candid beach photos of women in bikinis before, and if so, do you have any useful tips or advice?

Some things in general I would like to know:

    1. Is it legal for me to take candid photos of women on the beach, or do I need to get their permission. Keep in mind, these will not be naked or topless, since beaches in Hawaii do not allow nudity of any sort.

    2. Will they usually be confrontational about it, meaning I would be better off taking the photos as descreetly as possible, using a zoom-lens, or is it usually not a big deal, and I can just snap photos from a little closer without using a zoom lens.

    3. Have you ever been beat up by the boyfriend of a woman who caught you taking photos of her?

    4. On a sunny day during the middle of day, what would you say the best camera settings would be for me to use to get the best possible photos, as far as the shutter speed, aperture setting, and iso setting, given that I will be taking the photos by hand, and not with a tripod.

    5. Any other tips or advice would be much appreciated, thanks!Tips/advice on taking candid photos of women at the beach?
PERVERT!Tips/advice on taking candid photos of women at the beach?
Wait, you don't want people taking girlfriend photos, but you want to take photos of other guy's girlfriends?

C'mon on man, rent some videos and get off that way.

This forum is for real photographers and real questions.
Straight to # 5 - Take up macro photography, if you're close enough to do that, I'd ask for permission.
id beat the **** out of you if you started taking candid pictures of my girlfriend.
ok well.... if you honestly want these in a photography way.. you should DEFINATELY ask them before you do... because if not.. you might end up getting beat up
    you're a ******* perv.

If you don't want to deal with model releases, do the following.

Photograph only peoples backs (I'm not an expert, so don't take this as sound advice. I could be wrong; you may still need a model release.

Buy an expensive telephoto lens. Like a 500mm 2.8 or something like that.

Query ';bikinis in Hawaii'; on your search engine and save yourself the cost of a plane ticket.
    1. You should get a model release form signed if you intend to try to gain financially or just publish.

    2. You'll find photography much more rewarding if you ask permission and get cooperation. That way you can get in close, avoid the shadows and get smiles not frowns.

    3. No, but you can look forward to it.

    4. Sunny day, middle of day is possibly worst time.

    5. Don't.
Are you a pervert? You need to be arrested. Weather it is illiegle or not you are voilating a womans personal rights to her privacy. You may not just get beaten by the boyfriend, but if You did it to me you would not know what hit you and you would no longer have a camera which was working.

    Don't do it.

Why don't you find your self a serious relationship then you can photo her, by the way she will look just as pretty with her clothes on.

So funny. You are barking up the wrong tree. That's in Florida Miami beach. Not in Hawaii. Hawaii is so far from everywhere most of the people on the beach ar locals. Hawaii is where people live and so you got moms, dads, kids, etc. There are many visitors, but they are all mostly honey-mooners (new husband always nearby), and not necessarily ';attractive bikini-clad '; - just married.

I used to live there (Maui)

Use LONG zoom lens. But again, there's not much to take. Many of the beaches are NOT crowded so people don't sit near each other. So GET A LONG LENS !!

In general, in public area, people have NO REASONALBE EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY. Shoot away. Just don't be a creep and they won't throw sand in your camera (or the boyfriends beat you up).

Bad idea. Like I said - don't be a creep and things will be ok. Just because it is Hawaii rule of common decency doesn't change from your home town.

Don't get sand in your camera. I'm serious. There's a lot of wind and sand at beach. And the way you are going, lots of people are going to be throwing some at you too.

    Good luck...

P.S. Hawaii is a chain of beautiful islandSSSS. There's so much to take pictures. And you want to take picture of something you can get download from your internet FOR FREE. Just enjoy the island. Go sight seeing.

  • Getting a mystic tan tomorrow, give me advice/tips!?

Please don't tell me not to go.

I just want tips/advice. It's my first spray on tan.

THX.Getting a mystic tan tomorrow, give me advice/tips!?
    Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

I've done mystic tan several times.. and found the results last sooo much longer when you moisturize your skin more than you normally would. I've been very happy with my results.. it's safer than normal tanning and the color has always been longer lasting in my experience.Getting a mystic tan tomorrow, give me advice/tips!?
before you go to the tanning booth:

shower, exfoliate, and shave EVERYWHERE. if you have dry skin the tanning solution will stick to it and cause discoloration.

when you get to the tanning booth:

they will have lotion for you to use, i put it over my enitre toenails and fingernails. also, apply a thin layer in between your toes and on the palms of your hands, otehrwise you will get an orangey color in the cracks between your fingers and toes and on your palms.

    after the spray-

wait 4 hours to sweat, shower, or get wet in any way, or it will cause the tan to streak. also-

if any spots do appear to be darker than the rest of you, you can wipe the area with a baby wipe.

    hope this was helpful
exfoliate!!!!! I have used mystic , its pretty good. Actually airbrush done by a actual person is better more coverage and more natural looking . I bought a airbrush system and my boyfriend airbrushes me . Hope this helps.
    eek!

uhmm im just going to tell you my experience..

my friend and i did that for graduation, she is really pale and im pretty tan already.. it looked horrid on her.. she was wayy too white for it.. and they will tell you that it will look good on any skin color, but totally not true. it looked good on me, but it got splochy,, and there was nothing i could do about it.. and we went to waterworld.. and it totally rubbed off in the water..

    GROSS..

uhh.. just make sure you hold your breath

hmmm.. stand in a position to where you get an even coat.

when you dry off with the towels make sure you dont wipe it all off..

and put lotion on your toes hands elbows and knees.. they will go over all of this.. but just incase.

    ohh!! and you go naked.
Ooh, good luck with it. I've heard that Mystic Tan's really great and a lot better than most spray on services. First off, kudos to you for protecting your skin and not going to use a tanning machine. To prep beforehand, there's not really much to do. But one important thing to do is to exfoliate your skin (a wet towel would do, but you could get exfoliating creams, sugar scrubs, or even make your own [mix together 3 tbs. olive oil, the juice of one lemon, and some brown sugar and oatmeal]). If you use a scrub, opt for a sugar over salt one, because the salt scrub will burn your skin if you use it after shaving when your pores are wide open. Exfoliation will clear dead skin away to make your skin smooth, and more importantly, so your tan won't be splotchy and darker in certain areas with more dead skin. Also, moisturize a lot beforehand, but other than that, you're good in the hands of the professionals there.
When it starts don't gasp the spray tastes awful also rub the tan in fast then wash your hands immediately
tips? wear the smallest bathing suit you own, or not a top...because you're going to want it to be tan all over, so you wont be dark then be really pale if you're wearing something more revealing than you get your spray in!...

Clicker Training - Any tips or advice? ?

I want to start my dogs on clicker training.

I've seen it used on 'its me or the dog(s)'

But I was wonderin if there was any advise or tips you could give me other then the basic idea of click and treat.

Clicker Training - Any tips or advice? ?
You start with ';click and treat'; everytime the dog does what you want, but over time, as the dog gets good at something, click less.

Example: You're training the dog to ';wave Hello';. At first, everytime the dog picks up it's paw, you click and treat. Eventually, you only treat for actual waving. As the dog gets good at waving, treat less so that he'll keep waving until he hears the click.

Also: Once the dog gets good at doing something you want click more randomly. If he learns that 2 ';waves'; get a click, he'll quit everytime he waves twice. If you treat him after 2 waves, then 8 waves, then 6 waves, then 3 waves, then 12 waves, then 1 wave, etc. He'll never know when to ';give up'; and quit on his own.

';Jackpots'; are double insentives to pay attention and learn. It's when you offer a ';two-fer'; for 1 trick. Example: You click and treat him for waving, but toss an extra treat or 3 out for him for just the 1 trick.

All of this is called ';Operant Conditioning';.

By randomly treating and using ';Jackpots';, he'll keep working, and paying attention.

    Another tip:

Break down big tricks into small steps.

Example: Getting into a bed and covering up with a blanket.

First step is getting him to learn what a click means.

Then, you want him to go to the bed

    Then, lay on the bed.

    Then, pick up a blanket.

Then, pull the blanket over himself.

Then you have to start getting them all together. Each step will be it's own set of lessons, THEN you need more lessons to put it together in order, on command.Clicker Training - Any tips or advice? ?
Start with the click/treat so she associates the click with the treat. Repeat it several times to get it in her brain that the two go together. Then when you put training with it your timing has to be good, the second her butt hits the ground in a sit you click, same for any other behavior. Works great if you time it right.
Start out by just clicking when she's being good and giving her the treat so she begins to ascociate the noise with the treat. Move on to asking her her commands. When she does them, instantly click and treat. Never click to call her to come, though.
timing is everything. make sure you click right when its needed or the dog will get confused.

Your voice is good. :) I listened to/commented Satisfy My Soul.

The big thing I noticed is that you start your notes well and sometimes just let them go instead of ending well. Like from 0:48-0:52. Make sure you hold your diaphragm all the way through phrases. :)How do i sing? Tips + Advice?
you have lots of potential, you need to sing with more emotion, which you can do by trying to imagine what the singer was feeling while writing. Overall i thought it was really good, also your mic quality is not perfect, so that makes you better cause you sound good through it. also try singing with like music of the song behind it. they have alot of karaoke versions on youtube. overall keep making videos i really enjoyed it sorry if i seemed to be to harsh i am just trying to help you improve.

atleast you know it takes lots of work bc you got some work to do...

it starts with wanting to do your best and sing well...you are young and you got plenty of time to figure it out...first you want to learn your insturment, go to books a million or onlline and look up learning how to sing books...they will teach you the basis that you should know to be a good singer bc its is a great detail

What should i do? Tips advice help!?

Ok basically, im fourteen years old and this problem might sound petty to you but its important to me! ok so basically ever since i was in year 7 (6th grade) there's this boys whose really LIKE liked me but ive never really liked him in that way and i barely know him. ever since i started year 10 (ninth grade) i haven't spoken ot him once. the problem is that he talks about how much he loves me non-stop. im like 'hang on i dont even know you!'. anyway, it really gets on my nerves and he says all these stupid things which just makes everything so awkward. everyone else thinks its funny but i want him to stop!!!! to make it worse, the other day he asked my YOUNGER BROTHERS what i looked like naked. i mean what the hell is up with that twisted messed up kid? i was so freakin pissed off. so i could end it there: never speak to him again. but its bad because my friends having this party really soon. he was invited and i thought he couldnt come which is good but it turns out he can for the last part but it will be really annoying because theres only like 20 people going. i dont want him making any more comments and i dont want anything to do with him. none of my friends really understand but what shall i do at the party????? should i just blank him or tell him how i feel? i dont really know what he's getting at because he sort of likes me in a jokey way. this is so annoying! advice much appreciated!!! thanks. What should i do? Tips advice help!?
Well, if you don't feel the same way just ignore him at the party or anywhere else but if he starts talking about you, annoyes you or does anything you would not like him to do. go straight to him and say that you do not feel the same way about him and say that you are annoying me. other suggestions:

    1) find a girl for this boy

    2) get a boy friend so the this boy would know you are not available

    3) talk to him (ALONE)!!What should i do? Tips advice help!?
you should probably talk to him and tell him to stop. if he continues with the ';harassing';, then you should tell someone you trust and know can help. but at the party, you need to talk to him. to clear things up. don't be afraid. if you don't, not trying to scare you but he could turn into a stalker.
i think you should tell him how you feel because it would be wrong because by not telling him you are leading him on or maybe you should give him a chance because possibly there could be feeling you didn't know you had for him somewhere in your heart. Good luck! :)
I would def. tell him how you feel and how the things he is saying to you could be ';sexual harassment'; so he should probably stop being a pervert and talking to your younger siblings.
same thing is happening to me (not the naked part though) but its a girl....what i do(and it might work for you) is to date another person...he will get depressed(i dont know if u want to hurt him like that or not but it works)....he will think you dont even care about him at all.....if you dont want to do that then act like he dosnt exist....everytime he says sometin to you dont respond or even look at him...soon he wont even talk to you....trust me i know...and yea it gets annoying when someone is staring at you NONSTOP in the middle of class

    SAT/Mock SAT result tips/advice?

    Hello,

I'm a sophomore in high school and I want some tips and advice

    for my preparation for SAT

I'm planning to take it in my senior year, Sept, Oct, Nov.

I took MOCK SAT at the beginning of the year and my score

    was: math 700 reading 500 essay-%26gt; I didn't get my result back

    and I'm assuming it's about 500 also.

I'm setting my goal at about 2200(the higher the goal the better)

I need some advice and tips to get there

English is my second language and my vocab's really weak

How should I study for it? Should I read magazines? or

Should I study one of those ';SAT VOCAB'; books?

And I also need improvement in my essay

How should I prepare for that??

Also With 1 1/2 years left til I take the SAT do you think I can

    get there??

    Thanks

P.S. when you guys put tips and stuff, please tell how you studied and your results in SAT and your school GPA.SAT/Mock SAT result tips/advice?
If your vocab is really weak, unfortunately, vocab takes up a considerable proportion of the SAT, and it is one of the most important skills that you must have to ace the SAT!

However, there's good news. The SAT only tests within a limited range of vocab, around 3000-5000. I strongly suggest you download this core vocab list (a PDF file, see the link below), print it out, and memorize it. The bottom line is: you should be able to recognize the words on the test. Doing extra reading is also an effective way to improve your vocab. Magazines like Time and American Scientist contain good and advanced vocab. In fact, some passages on the SAT critical reading section were taken directly from these magazines. I know that memorizing vocab is extremely dry and tedious, but you can always make it fun. Make yourself some flashcards that you can carry around, pull them out at lunch when you are having you sandwich, and go through them a few times a day. There are lots of fun little vocab games and quizzes online as well. You tend to learn better with visual aids and sounds. Just google “SAT vocab” and you will find lots of free resources online.

Try to use some SAT words in your daily life, (i.e. in your English class, conversations, on your essays and assignments, etc)

    Here’s the list:

    http://img.sparknotes.com/content/testpr…

    P. S. I don't know about my GPA, but I am getting staight A's, still waiting for my SAT results.

by the way you seem good at math! Are you Asian??? LOL just kidding. But seriously, you have the potential to get a 800 on the SAT Math. You got 700 already, that’s just 100 more to go! Math takes the shortest time to improve, unlike the writing and reading, which are actually steady accumulation of knowledge. But you have a year and a half right? Study hard in the summers!

HEY don't trust Kenny, the guy who answered this question before me. Never ever underestimate the SAT, remember that your goal is 2200, which is about the 96th percentile, not a simple thing at all. I hate that when people just randomly answer questions, giving out bad advices and ignoring the need of the asker.

No offense but a 3.0 GPA is just mediocre.

After reading the other answers, I felt the obligation to tell you:

Remember: The one who scores perfect on a test never says it is easy!!!

Never wait till the last minute to study.

And trust me, the SAT Math is not what is seems.

Don’t be fooled. It looks ridiculously easy but it’s full of deadly traps! Though I am not the brightest kid in math, I got 95% in my grade 12 math and I am taking Calculus in second semester. You know what, when I took the SAT mock test, I only scored a 670 on math, because I made many careless mistakes. Such a shame, right? So you don’t want to end up like me, who always whine: if only I had studied more, if only I had been more careful, if only…..I could have gotten perfect. (That’s really sad!)SAT/Mock SAT result tips/advice?
im a senior and i just took the sat like 2 weeks ago, so, i can say that it was fairly simple, math is so simple, all algebra pretty much, but as far as for vocab and stuff, the night before i took it i looked up 100 most common sat vocad word and i found this little game where you match the word with the definition, and trust me, when i was taking the sat i saw those words pop up everywhere, my advice, take it junior year and senior year, never just take it once, im gonna take it over in march or may, forget when it is but i get my results on the 14 so im excited to see what i got, oh and my GPA is a 3.0 or an 85, so it is pretty good, but i really woldnt sweat it that bad
i never took my SAT cus i woke up late on the test day and i rescheduled n i woke up late for tht test day too. the worst part of it all was tht i had to pay out of my pocket for the test and the make up.

anyway i jus fineshed a yr in college n my gpa is 2.0

  • I ask again, more tips/ advice please!?

Well, last month I met a female at work. It was great, she was pretty, and so we decided to give it a shot by dating. The first date was awkward, as always, but as time went by, we got to know each other better and things looked real good for us. During the third week of dating,(be aware we went out like 3-4 days a week)...we were holding hands, kissing, like a couple....so I decided to ask her out and make it official. I understand it was only three weeks, but it seemed like the perfect time, and I even asked her if it was going to fast then we could hold. Well, she said yes, so it looked good for 2 weeks, when all of a sudden, she starts canceling dates on me for other reasons, but I didn't take it in any wrong way. On easter Sunday, we start talking online, when all of a sudden, she bust with a question that if I thought we may have went to fast and that she would like to just be friends for now. Told me that we were different, and that this decision would be best for us.I ask again, more tips/ advice please!?
It is easier said than done when you have strong feelings for someone but try to slow things down. Continue talking to her, be friendly, don't push going out, let her ask ';you'; out. Maybe she is gun shy, it is hard to get over being hurt. As hard as it will be, just back off a bit. She will notice and she will probably bring it up, when she does just say---I didn't want to push our relationship on you, so I am willing to go at your pace. Good luckI ask again, more tips/ advice please!?
    patience.Do not push too much.

She will not last.Treat her gentle.May be she will come back.
Alright, there isn't anything wrong with you. The only things keep this a perfect relationship is the memories and sadness she still have in her with her ex. So you gonna have to keep it cool and help her out with it. How? By talking to her more, telling her you're not his ex or walking the same path as his ex. You just got to spend lots lots of time to heal her wounds in her. Its tough, but you got to try hard since you love her. Good luck.

Do you have any tips/advice for me (taking the Ap English Language and Composition exam) tomorrow?

I re-asked this question because I didn't get receive any responses in the Standards and Testing Category.

Basically I haven't really studied using study guides but just going over material in class. We did many essays but not all of them were timed. I think I've got it down, but I'd like extra tips or information about the test.

I don't mean anything like eat a good breakfast or get plenty of sleep because I sure will do that. I am also good at keeping the timing down. Just any little thing you experienced on the exam that you'd like to share. Thanks in advance!Do you have any tips/advice for me (taking the Ap English Language and Composition exam) tomorrow?
You know, you could probably go in with a list of subjects to write about, can't you?

It helps to have at least 3 or 4 ideas or topics to write about. And simply make a basic outline of your ideas before writing out the whole thing, rather than trying to spout out off the top of your head.

And let it be okay to screw up. Do you know, I've been out of school for a long time, and not once was I ever asked what grade I got on ____ exam in ____ class in high school. Not Once! I mean seriously, NEVER!! So if you get a B or a C on your exam, don't kill yourself over it! A passing grade is still a passing grade.Toilets don't care about what grade you got on your exams, especially when you need the hose to wash the whole bathroom down in a famous National Park. Rocks and trees don't care what grade you got in freshman history, especially when you are walking past them. People want clean hotel rooms, not your grade in English. People at restaurants pay money for someone else to cook them food, serve it to them, and clean up after them when they are done. Your grade on this exam means nothing to them. Plumbers don't care about your grade, they just want to fix your toilet or your sink and go home. let me tell you, more important than my english degree for my monthly column in my local newspaper was how I clearly presented my subject so someone else could read and understand my meaning.

So in the big picture of things relax. There are millions of other people on the other side of the planet who don't know you, and your exam grade will not make or break their existence.

You wouldn't have made it this far if you did not have the ability or the capability. You do know what you know. You will do fine.Do you have any tips/advice for me (taking the Ap English Language and Composition exam) tomorrow?
dont freak out. Since the essays are timed, plan what youre going to write about before you start writing your essay. If they give you a planning period, plan what youre going to write for all the essays

    * give me some tips / advice / etc...?

i'm having a hard time with being called ';snobby';, ';conceited';, ';b*tch';, ';prep';, %26amp; etc...

i'm seriously the farthest away from both.

    * people say it has a lot to do with my looks

%26amp; me always getting what i want.

%26amp; the getting what i want part has NOTHING to do with me.

a lot of people get called this at my school, not just me.

but it's only certain people that do that to everyone.

it's not that i care it's just i want some tips on what i might be doing wrong.

i don't wanna give people the wrong impression; when they don't even know me.

i try my best to be nice to everyone; %26amp; i think i'm a little too nice sometimes...

overall i'm so sick of judgmental people, so please be nice %26amp; help me...

i really do need advice. :) thanks a lot!* give me some tips / advice / etc...?
That's horrible. No matter what you say to those people or how nice you are, they're going to say what they want to say and believe what they want to. Don't worry about impressing people because you, your friends, and family know who you really are. I know that it's hard having people say that about you, but really, what can you do?

If they call you those things again just ask them this, ';Give me one example of how I'm snobby/conceited.'; Watch them give you a stupid answer and make themselves look like idiots. They are obviously jealous when they said that you always get what you want. Stand up for yourself.* give me some tips / advice / etc...?
Some people are jealous that you get what you want.. An as far as the whole prep thing is, some people just have that general assumption on preps that there snobby and stuck up.

Just don't worrie about it and who cares what they think. be yourself. If you have to confront them about it.
It's okay just ignore them and don't pay any attention to those kind of people as they feed of your feelings in order to feel good for themselves they are pretty much jelous of you or something just don't let it get to you
I get this sometimes as well! But people will hate you regardless!!! So I give them 2 middle fingers!!! Phuck em!!!
