Bmx racing tips - advice?

Just looking for some advice on how to improve my riding.Bmx racing tips - advice?
when you go to the BMX track, practice on section at a time, ride with people your age and in your class, or a class ahead. try to pump the track all the way through to improve your pump speed, manual as many of the jumps possible to build up your balance, as well as laying out marks on the ground and manualing up to and then past them. Parking lots work really well for this.

Try doing uphill sprints a couple times a week to work on your explosiveness. and take full advantage of practice time before the race. get in next to someone who you know will rocket out of the gate and try to keep up. Gates and turns are the hardet to impove on by yourself and are best to work on when the gate is running. keeping yourself in good shape helps too, by not being bulky you cut down the weight and that makes jumping a lot easier.

Lift wieghts, but not to gain weight, lift lighter weights to increase lean muscle mass so you can move the bike where you need it with no problem.

Spinning classes are a major help as well.Bmx racing tips - advice?
Do a lot of hard training and develop some explosive sprint power, and learn to manual like a unicyclist. The more you ride, and ride with purpose, the stronger you'll get and that helps a lot to get out in front where you won't have to dodge so many elbows and handlebars. Anything you can do to improve your pump skills really helps, too...just practice practice practice. If you can practice in a group, that's closer to racing so you'll be more comfortable fighting in the pack. There are lots of strong and skilled riders that just can't handle the fight in a race and they don't do well. Those are the guys that learn to roll out of a crash pretty fast. lol :o)
