Training For Track. Tips/Advice Please?

to make a long story short:

i want to run track ; i love to run.

and i also want to get better at running by training for it

but when i do jog,exercise,etc.

i feel like i'm not getting enough out of it

like i should be. to eventually be fast enough for track season.

so i was wondering,

what kind of schedule or daily agenda should i do to get better by exercises?

example: run 10 steps, walk 10, do 10 lunges, etc.

any other advice/tips on training?

also i understand you have to be very flexible and i was wondering what kind of stretches should i do and how much should i do them?

thank you soooo much.Training For Track. Tips/Advice Please?

This site will let you put in your mile time and will give you a schedule of runs for you to do. Also sometimes if you want to since you want to be a sprinter then you can switch out a day and replace it with some speed work.

well im a football player, but all the football players from my school, had to do track to get faster, i did track for 3 years, and the best warm-ups and streches to do is run 10 meters but while you run take very short steps, and also stretch your hamstring and Quadriceps and do the Piriformis Stretch you can look it up to see what kind of a strech it is.but don't overstretch cause that can tire out ur muscles.
do weighted squats! the stronger the legs, the more power you get when you push off from the ground while running. just ask your coach to make you a workout plan to get stronger legs!

oh, and squats will make your legs and butt sexy for the guys ;)
It depends on what event you are planning on running. Sprinting and distance have completely different workouts. Maybe you mean you want to run cross country, because track doesn't start for a while... But its good to get a head start.
Just run, run, run!!! the only way to get better and faster is through practice. Of course, stretching beforehand and afterwards is a good idea too.
